Asked the same question HERE a couple of weeks ago.
I like a lot of the features of the Drift HD170 but in some of the footage shot with it on youtube it looks to me like there is more of a 'staggered effect' in certain situation eg. skiing/boardin and on motorbikes than the more expensive options.
Seems that you get what you pay for and the Contour or GoPro are hard to beat.
Some nice comparison shots [url=
I find the sound on the gopros is terrible...
Looking again at that comparison, the Drift comes out really well and it's a fair bit cheaper.
I got a basic Veho Muvi camcorder for Christmas. It's pretty good, although they do an HD version which is probably a better bet.
They also do one called the Atom that might be worth a look.
I use a GoPro HD for both m/bike and mtb. Not tried it on the m/bike helmet though, for track riding its ontop of the steerer using a Telferizer mount and old bullet cam mount +cable ties (its very solid).
Plenty of vids on my YT channel.
GoPro on the track is very very good quality
Got a MUVI HD7 - very happy with the results. About 75 quid if you shop around.
