[Closed] Has anyone used Stubhub to buy American Football tickets in the US?

We're off to the US on holiday in August and fancy taking the kids to a football game in Boston (15th August). Stubhub seems to be the only place I can get tickets but the "instant download" option says the tickets won't be available for download until 10th August - we'll be away then and I don't really want that sort of hassle while we're travelling…..

….has anyone done this and is it right? Will I have to wait that long for the "instant download"??

😀

I have no experience of stubhub, so I can't actually answer your question, sorry! But in the style of STW I'll give my opinion anyway. 😉

It looks like the Patriots only sell single tickets to those on their waiting list (which cost $100 to join) or through Ticketmaster, who have sold out. So it might be that a season ticket holder is trying to bypass the Patriot's system or that a stubhub user is effectively 'selling' you their place in the waiting list, where they will buy up tickets that become available from season ticket holders who can't go. Whether you think it is risky is up to you, but I guess the guarantee means if you don't get the tickets you should at least get a refund.

There tends to be better availability for basketball or baseball games, if in season.

I used Stubhub to buy baseball tickets in SF last month. No problems at all, and paid less for better seats than I could get direct from the Giants website.

When I booked there were various different options depending on which seats I selected: some download instantly, some download after a specific date, and some collect. I ordered some download instantly seats, and got the email with the download link straight away.

Isn't stub hub owned by ticketmaster anyway? ISTR my old boss using it and he never had a problem.

I'm surprised the season starts so early. Baseball games (minor and major) are better anyway :p

We used them for some baseball tickets I think. It all worked out well.

Used them about 5 years ago to get Boston Celtics basketball tickets (season ticket holders selling on games they couldn't attend I think)
Had them delivered to our hotel in Boston, they where waiting for us when we arrived, no drama at all (actually phoned the hotel the week before we left UK and they confirmed they had them at reception for when we arrived)
The whole basketball experience was great fun
