The gf and I are planning a road trip this summer. Involving a 1800 mile round trip to Slovenia. We're taking the bikes. (for those interested a MC Zen & Orange 5) along to sample some of the scenery.

The tourist board seems to have a fair amount of locations & info listed. but does anyone have any good experiences/don't etc.

Any (literally any) info would be fantastic.

Thanks!

Are you thinking bike park or trails?

I know the area around Maribor and both are available.

Oh and Slovenia is ace but don't tell anyone ok?

I went touring round Slovenia about 4 years ago, spent a few days here

then rode to Maribor where I did some good stuff. Not the dramatic alpine part of the country but very nice.

My GF did a short ski road trip there last winter. She can't recommend it enough for people, scenery and quality of hotels. She describes it as a more friendly version of Austria.

Tis a lovely wee place, check out a small number of my shots:

Just, whatever you do, tell your missus not to chat to blokes in the bars while you've got to the loo, regardless of how friendly they are. We had a slightly awkard "oh, you're not interested... why were you talking to me then?" moment or two 🙂
