I borrowed one recently. The battery life was about 2 minutes and utterly useless. Sorry.

Don't be sorry backhander I want to know if they are poor.
Interestingly, the assistant in tesco said almost exactly the same as you re the battery life 🙁

The new one - DC31 has 10 minute battery life which is actually lots in real life use. I have the animal version and it's really useful for (dry) kitchen spills and vacuuming the stairs.

We have a black and decker dustbuster ...think run time is about 7 mins (there are lots of different options/batteries). Wife loves it and if it broke would buy another tomorrow.
