I'm there on Saturday evening and, whilst I used to live there, I'm no longer familiar.

Would like a nice place to eat, in walking distance from the seafront, but not too posh, please.

2 grown ups, no kids (hoorah for us!)

Recommendations, please?

TIA

Bistro Pierre (French)
Legends at Steps (Best steaks in the bay)
Or
Amici (Italian)

All suitably romantic - Legends or Amici would be the most intimate smaller venues.

Of course if you used to live there you could always go to Jingles (yes, it really is still there) to relive the memories of dodgy cocktails and average Mexican food!

Yes really it is till there - not sure I'd class it as half decent though!

I think I was going there in the 80's!

Amici looks good - did that used to be the Rotunda? And Legends appears to be next door to the old TSB bank that I worked in... 😳

Not sure if Amici used to be Rotunda - that would have been before I lived in the area. TBH I don't frequent Torquay a great deal as I live nearer Newton Abbot although I am out there tonight.

If you haven't been on the new bypass yet you will be amazed at how quickly you get to Torquay.

The Cary Arms in Babbacombe.

Great location, great food, great drink. Officially not in Torquay but close by, you can defs take a stroll there.

Cary Arms is a great shout - used to go there after water-skiing off Babbacombe beach!

The Elephant.

No idea what it's like now but ten years ago it was about the best there was in that part of the world.

I was working in Plymouth a couple of weeks ago and was tempted to stay in Torquay but alas a colleague persuaded me to stay more local. I should have gone to Torquay.
