No no no. That's Hadrian's Wall Direct.

Hadrian's Wall is a different route entirely.

HTH 😉

I think Housesteads fort is just beyond the trees. Not sure though. 🙂

Thanks folks! I'd nearly found it myself by following the wall on the map and looking for the craggy bits 🙂 That'll be walkies on Friday hopefully!

Stunning area Simon and a rather pleasant walk.

Is that a UFO right at the top of the photo?

Wish it looked like that last time I was up that way. Good walking east from Greenhead, up to the Roman Army Museum, then on along the crags. June 2008 we got gales and big hailstones, all from the east so were heading straight into it. Still wouldn't have missed the walk though, great views.

In the distance you can see where I was running this morning. 🙂

It's called 'Cuddy's Crag' and is between Steel Rigg and Housesteads which is just below those woods. Sewingshields crag is just off top left of the picture.

Can't get more accurate than that, I remember going there as a kid and climbed near there about 18 years ago too.

Barnes were you at The Keelman Inn (off Hadrian's Way) by any chance? Whole bunch of cyclists there today, looked like your kind of group (judging by your photos).
