can anyone tell me the going rate for guitar lessons, beginner'ish/improver sort of level?
i'm thinking of taking a few as my guitar playing/ability seems to have hit a wall and can't break through. wondering if lessons will spur me on.
Where abouts are you based?
far west of cornwall
Was £28 per hour as set by the Musicians Union
Beware of anyone who charges a lot less
If you post yr email I can send you some good links/tips for improvement which may help
To be honest there's so much you can learn from YouTube these days you might just want to check it out.

This chap is good btw
thats pretty much what i've been quoted, i was'nt sure if that was dear or not so thanks.
hitman, my email is in my profile. if you could send me something it would be appreciated.
£25-30 seems very roughly to be an hourly rate for one to one tuitiuon whatever your learning.
Paying £11 for half an hour once a week for classical guitar tuition. I was struggling with self-teaching for a few years and got about as far as I reckon I would have got without my technique being corrected and specific improvements and exercises suggested.
I definitely recommend lessons if you want to make reasonably quick progress. Homework and not wanting to look like a muppet in front of someone else is good encouragement to practice.
Just checked and it is actually £12 for 30 mins so not far off the going rate that others have said.
