Never ending story 🙂
OK can't believe I'm going to admit to this but in the spirit of fun:
The Princess Bride
Clueless - probably something to do with Alicia Silverstone in an a-line skirt and thigh length socks!
Whinnie the Pooh
with the scores on imdb I wouldn't call The Princess Bride or Clueless bad films...
Personally I like Deep Blue Sea.
Crocodile dundee 😉
Enter the Dragon.
Planet of the Apes (original).
Logans Run.
All cheesy, dated yet all very good and surprisingly some great acting in Planet of the Apes.
Flashdance... what a feeling 😳
The original Time Machine
I love the princess bride. It certainly doesn't belong in this thread. Highly under-rated in my opinion.
I do love short circuit though. I'm pretty sure that belongs here.
Yep Princess bride is one of my favourite films.
Don't know of anyone who has seen it who does not like it.
After all its got "swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing"
I love the princess bride. It certainly doesn't belong in this thread. Highly under-rated in my opinion.
My god you've no idea how relieved I am! I've been carrying around that guilty secret for waaaay too long. I especially love the fact that there are a lot of scenes shot in the white and the dark peak. You can even see Higgar Tor in the background at one point.
My name is Inigo Montoya
You killed my father
Prepare to die
The Titfield Thunderbolt and many other similar films 😀
Loads of them:
Top Gun
Tomb Raider
The Blues Brothers
The Sound of Music
Notting Hill
Love Actually
The Scarlet Pimpernel (OK, that's a TV series)
Con-Air (well some of you think it's bad)
Love, Actually
Nanny McPhee
Oi NickF you've added some of those since I made my post!!
Genteel1972, I believe you can actually get t-shirt with that quote on them.
American werewolf in london
TSY - I know, I saw that you'd put Love Actually, remembered that I've got not one but two copies of the DVD, and thought I better confess.
princess bride and blues brothers are both class films and not guilty secrets in any way.
Nanny McPhee though, I like that, and the sequel too.
I'm unsure whether this is cheese or total class
Aside from anything else it has a brilliant soundtrack that is exactly of it's time and brings back excellent memories
When Angelina gets her norks out? Yes, me too. 😉
Ghostbusters.
"where do these stairs go?"
"they go up!"
Genius
samuri - LOL - yes, had forgotten that bit, honest 😳
Yep Princess bride is one of my favourite films.
Don't know of anyone who has seen it who does not like it.
I saw it in the Cinema for a friend's 9th birthday, rewatched it for the first time last year... So unimpressed that we switched it off about 20 minutes from the end, though the next day I watched the rest whilst Mrs CGG was out, to see if it got better or I was missing anything. It didn't and I don't think I did.
For those that really rate it, what other comedy films/series do you rate really highly? I'm perplexed that it's so popular but it didn't tickle my funny bone at all!
iDave - I almost said 'While you were Sleeping' but realised that it was purely for Ms Bullock and I've not attempted to watch it in the last 10 or so years. Having said that I do seem to keep catching the films where she's an undercover cop at beauty pageants.
How could I forget Speed.
Wooden acting (particulary from Canoe Reeves, though Dennis Hopper's simply appalling as well), terrible script, but saved by the delicious Sandra Bullock.
Demolition Man is equally as bad, saved in the same manner (Sandra B in a uniform, can't go wrong), and although terrible, is a film I have genuine affection for and could watch at any time.
The best Ghostbusters quote has to be "Listen. Can you smell something?"
I still have a place in my heart for Bad Taste as a bad film, even though it's now a cult film. It is pretty bad though.
Hackers is genuinely dire though. It's only worth watching for the young Ms. Jolie...
Sandra Bullock is still lush. In 95 I had all her posters on my uni room wall! 8)
Killer Klowns from Outer Space...........
Clueless - probably something to do with Alicia Silverstone in an a-line skirt and thigh length socks!
+1 I love that film, I also loved 90210, the original, back in the late 80's / early 90's
Flashdance again 😳
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. (Raindrops keep falling on my head scene)
nickf as some of my favs on his list 😳
Anything with Sandra Bullock in to be fair. 😳
Idave PMSL at "you should be culled"
Street fighter
Commando
The Warriors
Krull
Escape from LA & NY
Silent Running
+1 for Logans Run & Hackers, everything said previously about Hackers is why I like it.
Ah, yes, Demolition Man - 'great' film 🙂
(and the monologue from Dennis Leary is a part of one of his standup shows/rants which is actually really good too - it's hard to believe most of the soppy/crap acting he's done if you know him from his standup stuff)
Double Impact.
Jay and Silent Bob strike back.
Knight Rider - Flight of the Phoenix
The Dukes of Hazzard
Under Siege
If someone says Life Cycles they definitely should be culled.
I don't think the appearance of both Sandra and Alicia could've saved that one!
Anything siwht Kurt Russel or Michael Douglas.
Has to be Roadhouse. Everything you ever needed to know about being a 'cooler'. Just remember 'pain don't hurt'.
I met Sandra's ex hubby and I should have just taken him out, in a prophetic revenge type thing, and stolen her away before her heart was broken...... kinda
Con-Air (well some of you think it's bad)
I know its bad!
C'mon folks - The Warriors? A classic. Nanny McPhee? A kid's film. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?? An absolute classic!
Get em right eh?
Er, nothing else to add cos I don't like bad films, sorry.. 🙁
Pleasantville
Brokeback Mountain
DezB - how very dare you, blasphemy, I tell thee!
I'm going to do Mayhem solo now. Following you around whilst reciting the script!
FLASH AHHHHH
BOA vs Python - plenty of laughs although not sure for the reason the film intended
Anything with Steven Seagal.
Fire Down Below, it's an 'eco-thriller' according to the back of the box.
🙂
...and I find Elastigirl (Mrs Incredible) strangely attractive.
Defintiely need to change the medication.
Boa Cs Pyrhon is hilarious, the couple 'making out' then the snake takes over scene takes some beating.
Following you around whilst reciting the script!
As long as you don't act it as badly as Nicolas Cage or Jon Malcovic! Hang on, that's not actually possible is it?
The burbs.
nbt - I have no guilt when watching Kickboxer or Bloodsport.
Tong Po rules.
😆 Dez - I think you've nailed exactly why Con-Air is perfect for this thread!
I really should watch this Con-Air film you speak of, sounds like a hoot.
How could I have forgotten Commando, rubbish dialogue and all? Almost as bad as Con-Air's "put the bunny back in the box" line, though it's close.
The Austin Powers trilogy.... there I said it!
Dirty Dancing. Everytime.
Or Airplane with my dad at Christmas. 🙂
Dezb is spot on, butch cassidy is a classic. Flash Gordon is so bad it's actually more awesome than surf mat as featured in surf mat's dreams.
Now, karate kid. Guilt pleasure or old skool classic?
Torm - Hot Rod just made a massive leap up my 'must watch' list. TBH I can't beleive a man of your calibre has made it this far without seeing the cinematic gold that is Con-Air!
Dirty Dancing?!? Perr-leeeze!
Nobody puts baby in the corner
She's not even sat in the blimmin corner! Jeez.
A Star is Born [Streisand/Kristofferson]. Probably not known to some of our younger forumers because it was never released on dvd. I was ready to live that rock'n'roll lifestyle...
How high, the bit where they liquidise their mates body parts to smoke, so bad but so funny
And I normally hate films like that
The Princess Bride is a classic. I watched it with my boy the other day (I would have watched it without him TBH). Superb stuff.
The sword fight / banter is brilliant
But I have a secret... I'm not left handed
Ha ha... Neither am I!
Butch Cassidy doesn't belong in guilty pleasures, that film is a proper classic.
"What happened to the old bank? It was beautiful."
"People kept robbing it."
"Small price to pay for beauty."
I also love Con Air, its a lot darker than you'd expect in places, especially when Steve Buscemi turns up, as he is terrifying in it.
Love, Actually as well, to my eternal shame.
Torm - That's not really a corner is it?! 👿
That's just the side of the room!
It's a corner. And nobody puts baby in it.
I've never watched it not hungover and it's 'guilty' pleasures.
Don't worry I am ashamed. 😳
-dumb and dumber ("Mrs Samsonite!")
-labyrinth ("Saraaaah!")
-predator ("...and double it.")
-ooooh, pretty much any Arnie film come to think of it.
-Transformers The Movie (80's one)
And I loooooove the Princess Bride. Nothing guilty about that though.
Tank Girl
Yay!
Super Troopers....
"Did you just say miaow?"
Is it wrong for a man to like Grease?
If I ever flounce off this place. It will be to this...
Millenium, D.A.R.Y.L, Wargames, I even managed to enjoy the whole of Bionic Showdown the other week and thats really rubbish!

Killer Klowns from Outer Space...........
I think I was about 15 when I saw it and VERY drunk, not sure it would have the same appeal, but had us making shadow puppets on the dark walk home and found it very funny...................................
