Like most of the STW massive, I'm a sophisticated musical connoisseur, happily surfing the zeitgiest between happening and happened, cooler than a perspiring penguin.

However, when I'm not listening to the latest in Russian reggae, Aboriginal electro or Peruvian pre-modernist plainsong I sometimes like to kick back and listen to the music that 'normal' folk, even women or southeners can groove to.

Here's five tracks that almost anyone (and not just those of us gifted with excellent critical faculties) can enjoy:

What are yours?

Paparazzi by Lady Gaga. I remember watching this and thinking first "What the blazes am I watching?" followed by "and why in the world do I like it?"

But why feel guilty about music? there's always someone that'll hate what you like.

I really can't be arsed to go hunting down YouTube links, and nothing I listen to I feel the slightest bit guilty about, but, for the sake of argument, these are the five that might have some people raising an eyebrow:
t.A.t.U: All About Us
Mary Hopkin: Martha
ABBA: Cassandra
Pet Clark: Down Town
Scarlett Johansson: Fannin Street

Europe- final countdown, proper cheesy, but still good in an 80s way.

Christin Aguilera - Genie in a bottle.

Everytime I hear that song it takes me back to working in a papershop with my best mate during the summer holidays. Probably the best 6 weeks of my life.
Musically its rubbish, but it elicits an emotional response.

I've always been a sucker for 60s girl singers

Cilla Black - Anyone who had a heart
Sandie Shaw - Always something thereto remind me
Dustie - You don't have to say you love me
Helen Shapiro - Walking back to Happiness

I'll come back with the 5th but probably Mama Cass

Some of you need to try harder. Dusty is mega-cool and so are Cameo!

My not-very-cool pleasures (I don't feel guilty)...
