I have plotted a course using Garmin connect which I believe has no elevation data held in the file. I have converted the file to a GPX. There are a few sites out there that will let me import a GPX file to create an elevation profile but it won't do this as the GPX has no elevation data.

How do I get an elevation profile/ data from a Garmin course file.?

surely bikehike will let you do this ?

you just overlay the GPX onto the OS map and bike hike should work out the elevation from its own data ?

garmin connect needs shooting at birth.

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/elevation might do it, too.

Lookup will never be as accurate, especially if traversing a hill, or riding close to a cliff.

Haven't a clue abotu TCX files or Garmin COnnect, but iirc on the eTrex, it records elevation data in the current active log, but the moment you save the log internally on the device, it strips elevation data. BUT if it's an eTrex with a microSD card, if you manually tell it to record everything there all the time, then that log DOES contain elevation data.
