Just track my journeys, tell/record where I am with elevation measurements linked to Google maps I guess. Just got 4g. Trying "Geo Maps" at the mo'.
Prompted by severe lack of accurate paper mapping in my location (Spain) and also because I might as well climb on board with the tech by now... 🙄
backcountry navigator has a lot of fans. don't know much about it myself.
We used back country navigator to do the bernia ridge in Costa blanca last year. It had full Spain IGN topo mapping down to 1:25k there used to be a 30 day free trial app as well so you could try it out.
Also, you don't need 4g, just download the area of map you want onto your phone beforehand.
