Am I wrong in thinking that the brainless goons in government don't realise just how hard it would be to classify every single video on youtube before adding advertisements? Can you even do that automatically yet, don't we still need human moderators for video content?

Is this an excuse to attempt more censorship in the long term and introduce television style regulation?

I know, go back a year or 2. No ads on Youtube videos. That'd fix it.
Not like anyone buys anything due to the shitty bloody annoying ads anyway. And they advertise online gambling to kids. Ban it all!

Iirc vids are only moderated if reported. Hence the trend of trolls posting 24hour long videos of Rick Astley, then reporting them, saying there's porn in it. Some poor sod then has to watch the whole video...

10 quid says youtube now has to setup a a supercomputer and data centre the size of north wales with a carbon footprint the size of California, to have AI scan every frame of the uploaded video for anyone that looks a bit to beardy/naked and/or sounds a bit shouty.
