I quite fancy spoiling myself and getting some decent editing software for the GoPro. I want to be able to get proper smooth slow mos for instance.
Don't want to spend the earth but don't mind a couple of hundred.
Any thoughts?
Adobe Elements 10 should be quite good - the slimmed down full thing only works in 64bit though.
Edit
Though previous versions have spat the dummy with the mp4 container used and required reencoding first.
Sony Vegas Movie studio is very good.
I use Sony Vegas HD Platinum. Maybe not as intuitive as some but once you get the hang it's good and fast to use. Download some trial versions and see which you like? Vegas is here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/trials
Whichever software you use the more processing power you can chuck at it the better!
How technical are you with computers? Could you install Linux as a dual boot? It's very capable and free, so spend the cash on a faster PC or some bike bits?!
I installed Linux Mint and run Kdenlive - it's got loads of features, I find it easy to use. It's my footage and creative skills that are the limiting factor!
As for SlowMo, if you have a Nvidia graphics card, this can do some pretty crazy smooth slomo by adding in the missing frames:

Slo Mo test from the above - some weirdness going on but the framerate was pushed pretty far!
If you want great slow motion footage, you need the Twixtor plugin..
