[Closed] 'Going back' job interview tactics

May have an interview at a previous workplace doing a role that may be deemed 'junior' to my current role.

There are various reasons why I want the job -
1) I enjoyed my time there (although things have changed)
2) There are opportunities there that don't exist in my current workplace
3) They do some interesting stuff

I don't want them to think I'm taking something to get my foot in the door of the company and being too keen to move on too quickly, however I know that people have moved on from that role - is this something to avoid?

With regards to the more 'junior' position, as I'm taking voluntary redundancy the money isn't an issue, and I know that the work will probably be more intellectually stimulating than my current workplace . I want to increase my knowledge base of using different systems but am concerned that they may see this as a backwards step, however refer to my previous paragraph about wanting to progress.

How should I play it? Just be myself? I have got a history and left on good terms, maybe they think I can bring a lot to the role - I know the previous manager of that team left a few weeks ago so could be a bigger opportunity down the line, plus loads of other people from that organisation have also left on voluntary redundancy.

When I left the company I was doing the same job as I'm being interviewed for, I've acted up to a more senior position for 2 years. They don't need to know that the 'acting up' role is being made permanent do they?

Tell the truth - you enjoy the more junior role more than the senior role.

I have done this - going from managing a nursing home to being deputy to the deputy
