Hello,
Does anyone use one of the Go Pro hero 960 cameras?
I quite fancy one but the people at go pro don't rate them and say they have had a lot returned by customers due to them not being happy with the quality of the pics.
Does anyone have a footage so I can see the quality myself? The HD ones are great but I don't really want to spend £300 on one!
Can anyone help me out?

Yeah I have had a look but I can't tell what model is what half the time so I was hoping someone would be able to show me their footage which as definately filmed with the 960 model.
Thanks for that, I have managed to find a few more bits on youtbe too!
To be honest the picture looks pretty decent, I was expecting a lot worse. Plus the 960 is about £140 cheaper than the 1080!
The HD HERO 960 is the exact same camera as GoPro's current top model, the HD HERO. They just removed three features to make it more cost effective for people who are interested in a less expensive option.
It does not have the 720p @ 60fps (50fps PAL), it does not have the 1080p @ 30fps (25fps PAL), and it does not have the HERO Bus on the back (for the expansion accessories like the LCD and battery back packs and the 3D sync cable. So, they turned off those two resolutions, and did not include the HERO Bus). Besides that everything is the same - the sensor, processor, etc, etc, etc, EVERYTHING, etc is exactly the same... It still offers two HD resolutions (720p @ 30fps/25pfs PAL, and 960p @ 30fps/25fps PAL) and also WVGA @ 60fps/50fps PAL. Hardware wise, the only difference is that the 960 does not have the HERO Bus on the back - that's it. There's a lot of misunderstanding out there about this, so I'll say it again - besides those two resolutions and the bus on the back, the two cameras are literally the exact same thing. So, if you don't care about or need those three features, the HD HERO 960 is the way to go. I hope this helps.
so has anyone worked out how to hack the firmware and open up the features then....
Great, that helps a lot. I will be ordering one soon!
