We will be in touch
I've just spent ages trying to find an important email in my rarely used gmail inbox, its full of lovefilm 'next rental on its way' and wiggle sale emails. With my hotmail account I find the sweep and scheduled clean-up' functions really useful for automatically and quickly getting rid of these kind of old 'greymail' messages. I can't easily find a similar thing on gmail, does it exist, or do I have to go through and individually mark each unwanted message to then bulk delete?
I appreciate that this is very much a first world problem. 😕
If you use the "Create Label" function you can easily filter the messages and then deal with them accordingly.
OK, that helps a bit, I don't want it to bin brand new messages (hotmail allows you to keep the latest one from a particular sender and bin the rest) I've found the help section so I'll see how I go on. I may be back for more advice shortly.
i find the search function in gmail makes most 'tidying up' unnecessary

Also deleting stuff you don't need before it piles up into the hundreds.
