Looks to me to be a spot in the middle of a nice bit of countryside. Who lives there to give it that name? Seems odd. Any locals know why?

I was thinking that it may be a popular spot with the Glasgow neds who seem to flock to Lochlomond in the summer to drink cheap lager and camp by the shores.

I don't quite understand why it's considered offensive. Perhaps someone could explain.

I assume it's not about helmets or cycle touring races?

It seems the park staff were having a bit of a laugh giving names to map features that had no name. The Beeb in Glasgow have a particular talent for making a non story into one. This one refers to the name being very close to 'Giro Day' which aparently most of the population of the greater Glasgow area will have had some experience of. I have had similar experience in the past but I am not offended as I come from the posh end of Glasgow (Edinburgh) 😉
They are all a bit sensitive at the moment as the world is having a go at their footy culture. By the way!
