I've been with iTunes for years and years, I have a mac, two ipdas, three iphones all sharing music through one Apple ID. It's time for me to upgrade one of my contracts and i'm seriously interested in trying something new, like an Samsung S4.
Problem is, my lass and my daughter have iphones, most of my music in itunes is legitimate music and we all share it. If I was to buy a non apple product then how would I get the music onto their devices and vice versa.
I know i'm in apples pocket and getting fed up of paying 99p everytime the nipper wants the latest 1D track 🙄 I do like the easyness of use of the stuff and I know the Iphone 5 isn't the best phone, I'm just thinking of something different for a change/
So long as the device can be seen, you should be able to just drag songs out of iTunes into wherever the phone or whatever keeps its music, or if it's got a card slot then drag selected songs onto a card. There's nothing complicated about it, there's no DRM on songs bought since April 2010, and none is added to music you rip, despite what some might insist. If you rip music as AAC files, anything other than a Windows phone should play them, as it's basically MP4.
I used to drag music onto my Nokia N95, and my Sony K750i, so if they could play music from iTunes, then any modern Samsung, LG, Nokia, Sony, etc, ought to. If they don't, it's a failure of the phone not coping with open file formats. Even Apple Lossless is open source.
Very easy, no software required for android. Drag and Drop music play store can run from the browser.
cheers guys, and how is music bought for an android device?

Well, you could still use iTunes....
Or anywhere else on the net (or better, high street) that sells music
Yep anywhere have a look at play music and Spotify premium
There's nothing wrong with still getting your music through iTunes, you've got it already set up, all the rest of the family are using it, so why are you trying to fix something that ain't broke?
FWIW, it's now possible to buy and download music from Amazon direct onto an iPhone, via their new app; you download the song from their cloud server, so I guess there's that route, also, if you use Shazam, that downloads direct from iTunes to your phone, so changing from iTunes removes what is a very useful facility.
