[Closed] Getting nuisance calls-want my own back

Mate of mine got revenge by putting adverts up in the classified ads at the local supermarket. Stuff like expensive cars at cheap prices and games consoles dirt cheap.

Or just scribble his number on the walls of various public toilets offering "services".

Sell his numbers to some Nigerians.

Block his number and get on with your life.

Seriously though, the guy's a crank. Completely harmless, a bloody nuisance. He's calling at like 530 am and at midnight, plus pretty much thoughout the day. He's only calling my mobile, as that's the only number he has for me.
He's been asking for my landline, but nobody will give it to him and i'm ex dir.

Nope, was the opposite in fact. I was recommended to him Aww some family members. I've done loads of work for them of still do. Just started a job worth 11k. Even they think he's a bit 'not right' over this. They have had talks with him already, but fallen on deaf ears and have been suite apologetic too!
I did a fairly large refurb for him on a house he'd bought to rent out. Did it mega quick as he had a tenant waiting already, worked long, late days and weekends to get it done. Was mithering like mad before i'd even started, whilst I was working for one of his family. They stepped in even then telling him to stop hassling me!
In the end, he paid me but short a couple of hundred quid. The job was completed in late november, I recieved the last 200 a week ago. No explanation or apology, the only reason he paid was because the family were pressuring him.
Now he's ringing constantly asking for keys I don't have and for me to do more work for him!

Where do you think this will end? Do you think people phoning him will make him think you've won and he'll stop?

Lets say it was me. If I started getting phone calls in the middle of the night, I'd chin you. And then I'd chin your car, and your bird. Then I'd chin your mum, is that what you want?

call them, say you're getting nuisance calls from such n such numbers. job done. Or post dog shit through his door.

Report the nuisance calls to your provider - they do have ways of dealing with it properly rather than you being as big an idiot as he is.

Doesn't sound credible to me.

Report his nuicance calls to the network and the problem ends. Take "revenge" my organising calls and you'll end up in trouble. Your choice, I know what I'd do.

There's a button on your phone that will fix that easy

I looked into a loan to see what sort of rates were available to me, now the loan companies ring every day, text everyday and generally harrass me... try that.

In other news, I had a similar problem a few years back, silent calls, phone held to speaker for music etc, then my number got listed on a gay dating website. Easy fix, asked the gay guys which sitei was on and got it removed, saved the number and rang it back from works number within office hours, ask for "dave" or whoever, to see if I recognised voice. then, given as I work shifts, I spent a good £10 on my mobile ringing them at 0500 etc so they could have silent phone calls or listen to my music. soon stopped!

Ofcom's advice:

Malicious or nuisance calls, whether from people you know or from complete strangers, are a criminal offence. You should tell your phone company as soon as you receive a malicious or nuisance call from somebody. It doesn’t matter whether you know the caller’s identity or not.

I'm liking the divert idea, but won't work during the daytime. I turn the phone off at night now though, so not really an issue now.
I don't want to post his number on any gay advert sites etc as that would be a bit too malicious. I just want to give him a taste of his own really, not go one up.

give his name and number to insurance companies (car and home) they never give up on a possible sale

you can also try mobile phone upgrade people, thoes ones in the newspapers with the deals that are too good to be true are a real nightmare

or if you go onto a website and apply for a loan but leve the boxes blank for you allow us to pass your detals on to other companies that my be of intrest to you he will be pestered for ever more generally about dinner time.
