If I remember right, Ligget et al, do the commentary on the main feed, as they did with TDF. This is then syndicated by channels round the world. Not ideal, but I don't think many channels would be able to provide their own commentators.

it's true that liggett has a contract to provide commentary but ITV aren't obliged to buy it, but they do cos it's easy and the producers don't have a clue about the finer details of the sport and the quality of the commentary...
