[#11996498]

Seeing as we're in a confessional mood......

I like my seam on the left. More information is available on request.

I'm right handed, but used to shoot from my left shoulder until an unfortunate altercation with the grandson of a prominent local chip shop owner damaged the sight in my left eye.

I skate goofy and used to box southpaw, but when cycling lead off with my right.
Mostly ambidextrous when it comes to typing and writing, but prefer to kick a ball with my right foot and can only perform awesome bike skids turning to the left.

And yes, the Jim Bowen joke is fantastic. 🙃

I'm wholly sinister.

Left handed. Left eyed. Left footed. I 'dress' wherever it falls but that's probably left too.

If I were to skate or similar I'd lead with my left. Setting off on a bike, left.

I do very very few things right-handed outside of necessity (usually lack of equipment). Playing pool is about the only one I can think of. I re-taught myself to play lefty and am now equally shit with both hands.

How's playing pool 'handed'?

Shirley it's ambidextrous?

I tend to tuck it in to my sock.

I'm right handed, but anything remotely board-related I'm goofy.

When boxing, my tendency is to stand with my right hand forward (ie: as a left hander). When I was young I used to hold a cricket bat etc like a left hander.

So right handed and goofy, but I do a few things like a left hander - more so when I was younger.

Write left handed. Dress to the left. Use a mouse right handed. Play racket sports right handed. Cricket left handed. Right handed scissors. Football left foot. Lead off on the bike with my right.

Bit weird really. I’ve always considered that I’m a bit ambidextrous but really something things have always just felt right with the hand or foot I use.

You hold the cue with your favoured hand.

Dress to the left
Skate regular
Right handed and footed
Can ride with with either foot forward, prefer right unless I’m track standing when it’s left
I’m also more flexible on my right side than left.

Orthodox. Shoot left. Natural footed. Right kicker. Point Percy with the left. Change gear with the left. Left handed. Left wing. Spanner right. Left, right, left, right.

Since lockdown, very much this 🤣

Never even thought if I "dress" to the left or right. It just fits where it fits.

Right handed but very much left eye dominant so I shoot a rifle from my left shoulder. This has cost me a fortune over the years in left-handed rifle stocks and having shotgun stocks cast.

I also use a shovel/spade and a sweeping brush as a left hander would i.e. left hand at the top of the shaft (ooooerrrr).

My optician said my brain pretty much ignores the information from my left eye!

Left left left left left...

I believe they call that "nestled" (or did I just make that up? 😀 )

I'm a left dresser, a lefty writer, a righty batter/hitter, ambi kicker. I think we've discussed this before - how I can't shoot a gun or bow n arra anywhere near on target cos my right eye is leader, but left hand shoots the weapon (not that one).

I wear tight pants so it tends to get squashed up inside. Like a baby acorn...

Yeah, interesting someone else has the same problem as me. I never adapted to it, cos well, I don't really go round shooting stuff, except maybe the odd elastic band.

It was so cold on last night's bivvy that I've still got an inny so dress direction is irrelevant.

Right handed, right foot forward, this causes problems on the SUP. I can switch reasonably comfortably between right handed and left handed paddling in a kayak even in fairly chunky water.

Left handed, dress to the right, shoot open sights right handed due to dominant eye, but when using a scope, I shoot left hand. Can kick a ball with either foot, racket/bat sports left handed.
Use a mouse left handed with the buttons switched , which really throws people if they try to use it 😉

Right-handed for writing, but a mix depending on what I'm doing:

'It' just nestles.
Goofy snowboarding.
Left-foot lead on the bike, but happy with either it seems.
Left-ear/hand using a phone.
Left-eye taking pics with a camera with proper viewfinder.
Left-hand drinking.
Right-handed holding a mouse.
Kicking a ball - I'm equally shite with either foot.

Right handed and dress to the right. Shoot a gun from the right shoulder but more because that was my draw hand for a bow as it is stronger and just felt more natural rather than eye dominance.
Goofy for any type of board.
I can bunny hop a bike fine, but only side hop to the left.
Snooker and pool cues in my right hand and would rather do the weird behind my back thing than change hands for that for awkward shots

I look through the scope with my right eye.

Not really!

I dropped a cod in my OP, it's the right eye that is ignored.

I shoot pistol with right hand but have to use my left eye for sighting so my neck gets some grief as I have to rotate it an additional 7 degrees.

I'm generally right handed but having to learn to lefty everything due to a progressive muscle disease affecting right hand/arm. Which leads to some comedy moments and a great deal of frustration. Especially computer mousing. And *******.

I never really got the "dress left or right" thing. By my calculations and based on the shorts im wearing right now my penis would have to be 8" flaccid to end up either side of the crotch seam.

It isnt

'Left Handed' on paper.

Write with left.
Scissors with right.
Mouse with right.
Left foot forward on bike by default (unless turning left!).
Throw (ball, darts...) with Left.
Right foot for football.
Regular for skate/snowboard.
Phone/insta-scrolling in right hand.
Left handed for Shotgun.

And 'dress' to the left!

Which just all goes to show how weird and indiviudal the left handed/right handed thing is!

Customarily do everything with right hand and foot. Where I stuff my dong is my own business but am happier in dress, robe, kilt etc. Remember the 70s and 80s when it was painful to shove junk down drainpipe trews. Just silly.

Unless really cold, when it’s both hands in pockets and dress to the front 🥶

Have been learning to play drums though and limb-independence is improving/increasing all of the time.

Some science:

Right-left and the scrotum in Greek sculpture
Abstract
The scrotum in humans is asymmetric, the right testicle being visibly higher than the left in most men. Paradoxically, it is also the case that the right testicle is somewhat larger, rather than smaller, as might be expected. Greek classical and pre-classical art, which took great care in its attention to anatomical detail, correctly portrayed the right testicle as the higher, but then incorrectly portrayed the left testicle as visibly larger. The implication is that the Greeks used a simple mechanical theory, the left testicle being thought to be lower because it was larger and hence more subject to the pull of gravity. The present study examines data on scrotal asymmetry in more detail, and puts them in the context of Greek theories of functional differences between the right side and the left side.

Full UCL report:

There's a bit of literature on this sort of stuff. Who wouldn't take a mild interest?

(Left handed for writing, right handed for most other things including, er, throwing, surf regular.)

I dunno. More research needed. I'll fire in another grant application.

(Fwiw the study I linked and related one here https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15382717/ were done in the authors spare time, unfunded and won the 2002 Ignoble Prize for medicine, for research that makes people laugh and then think https://www.improbable.com/2016/08/07/scrotal-asymmetry-in-man-and-in-ancient-sculpture-etc/.)

Gentlemen. A personal question. How do you dress?

These days I tend to be casual, a band t-shirt, jeans and smart, understated Adidas trainers. For more formal occasions I'll don a tweed blazer.

Shirley it’s ambidextrous?

You hold it in one hand and rest it on the other.

Use a mouse right handed.
...
Right handed scissors.

Ditto, and also shooting a bow, but all those are learned behaviour out of circumstance, my instinct was originally lefty but it wasn't an available option. Being forced to use a mouse wrong-handed ended up serving me well as I've spent half my life using other people's computers.

Well, usually I start with my underpants, I'm a boxers man so need to make sure I get them the right way round so the wee, wee hole is in the right place or you could looking at an embarrassing accident! LOL! Basically the big hole in the top is for your tummy and the smaller holes at the bottom are for your legs. The big hole has a stretchy bit round it to make it easier to identify.
Next up socks, always best to have two that look roughly the same, or a 'pair' as they're known. These I slide on to my feet. Not sure if you're meant have a specific left or right sock but had no problems so far, so 🤷🏻‍♂️ whatevs.

Phase three is flexible but I always go trousers first, cos I wouldn't want to get to work having forgotten them! ROFL. These are a bit like underpants but have long tubes of material for your legs rather than just holes. Also a good idea to line up the zip hole with the one on your underpants!

Then I move on to the top half, tend to avoid shirts cos the buttons are tricky so a t shirt. My favourite is the one with "I shot jr" on it but I got jam on that so it's sticky now. 😥

Lastly shoes, a foot in each, you want the velcro straps closing to the outside to get them on the right foot.

And that's it! Simples!

Swing a sledgehammer left or right handed
Split logs left handed
Split kindling right handed
Cast a fishing rod right handed
Left eye dominant, shoot right handed
Bit of a mess really.

I cannot comprehend how bored, or weird, (or both), you'd have to be to ask this question. What on earth are you hoping to find out?
