Better than I expected. Even the loathsome Prue Leith seemed to rein it in a bit. Some cracking illusion cakes too.

I think I'll stick with it.

Yeah, not bad, way better than expected. Obvs the adverts are a pain. Noel bloke is crap though. Could do without him.

If it was a contestant, it wouldn't be figuring in the judges considerations for star baker, but neither would it have to worry about being sent home.

Loved it but my only criticism would be too many ad breaks.

It was fine. Prefer Mary Berry to Pru, and Mel and Sue to Sandy but Noel was good and adverts were good for fetching nibbles and drinks.

Kids liked Noel which is good.

The Great British Beige Off.

Yup, they're all definitely, incontrovertibly, beige. Some are beiger that others. But who is the most beige? Only time will tell.

Don't really see any chemistry between Noel and Sandi, or between Paul & Pru, but eraky days yet I suppose.
Adverts annoying.

Look, I'm not really GBBO target audience, but I would happily watch the old BBC ones.

This one though, well, beige is a good description. I just didn't really care about any of it. Seemed to lack energy without Mel & Sue. And there's just no charm to Fielding, Leith or Toksvig.

I said to the Mrs - I'll give it three series on C4.

Like the showstopper winner it was style over substance. Thick wedges of icing and some fancy gadgets to make it look pretty.

Not bad... Contestants seem pretty skilled !

Noel i hated early on, but he was a bit better later...

I rather the Pru than Mary...

Sandy... Hmmmm... She troubles me...

Noel's CBBC voiceover grated a bit. The show struggles without Mary.

The adverts are the biggest issue for me. Having two official show sponsors with two lots of idents also highly annoying. Cross-promotion of other terrible C4 programmes is irritating.

Gave it a go but the adverts ruined the flow of the show for me and I'd lost interest by the time the final segment came on.

Part of me hopes it falls flat on its face, TBH. The whole poaching of successful shows from other channels by so-called public service broadcasters leaves a bitter taste AFAIC.

Is everyone still watching - or have you already given up on it!?

I think it's just as good as before and I'm enjoying it so far - recording it of course so we can skip the ads.

I dip in and out every year. Mrs + Miss North love it.

For me, not having Mary Berry is an upside: I find her manner to be extremely condescending.

Sandi Toksvig is my favourite addition.

Noel got a bit more Boosh this week, so I'm still in.

Gave up on. Its now become a plastic copy of the original with no redeeming features.

Isn't that EXACTLY what the majority of viewers want?

Something about fixing not broken things?

My wife is quietly saying that it may actually be better than the old version.

Me too - never quite understood the fandom for her.

Agree about Sandi as well - and on QI I prefer her to Stephen Fry.

Noel seems a bit lost so far, more like the new boy at school shuffling around wanting to be liked.

If feels a bit looser too, and 'Extra Slice' feels a bit edgier* - there was even a swear from Jo Brand last night.

(*if Bake Off can be edgy!)

No harm here, the new Top Gear tried to change and was awful!

I like the "new" version as I hated Mel and Sue, the ads dont bother me as I record it and fast forward all adverts. Even if I was going to watch live, Id delay starting it for 15mins so that I can then fast forward all the adverts and then watch the last portion live.
