Currently with British Gas for both, they have just announced a big price increase.
Is it worth changing now, or are they all going to follow?
Would there be any benefit in hanging fire in case one provider does a special deal to attract new custom?

Good questions, I've been thinking aboiut that myself. Worth investigating in August.
