Bought bike stuff in Febuary which went down like a Led Zeplin.

Dinner/day out will be seen as a cop out and wont count as a present.

Her Gym is a health spa so pampering is out.

She doesn't really do shiny stuff and I'd be hopeles at picking it anyway.

Flowers/choclate/wine are expected when I get home form work on a Friday so won't be special.

And to make matters worse, it's her birthday next month and Christmas the month after so I need at least 3 good present ideas!

It's September

Her birthday's next month, in October.

Christmas is the following month, in November.

Yep, that works

Theatre, ballet, music? Saw Hamlet last week, Northern Ballet.
Ms TPT's birthday we saw Swan Lake.
Good luck, we have all been there.
Was it shiny bike stuff?

Make something?

Card, picture, frame a photo of the pair of you?

Spend some time together?

What is she giving YOU for the anniversary?

No idea, but I hope it's illegal in at least 30 states

Surely the fall out from your February purchases has died down by now?!

That's a toughy that one, one argument would be that although her gym is a health spa, how often does she actually have a massage etc? pampering is usually a good one to fall back on when out of other ideas.

Theatre's a good idea though.

She sounds like a right pain in the jacksie, so in the spirit of equality I recommend giving her a good hard bumming.

Take her to an old romantic haunt (such as a memorable day at the seaside from the past).

You could always ask her what she wants - that usually works for me. Failing that jewelery, perfume, a Kindle or an IPad depending on her taste/your budget.

She already 'adopts' 2 donkeys and a pot bellied pig at a sanctuary, so not as far fetch/origial as you'd think!

Tried that a few christmas's ago, asked our mutual friend for advice, apparently I didn't try hard enough and cheeted by asking for help!

Sounds like she won't be pleased whatever you do, so save your money and take the flack for doing nothing rather than wasting money.

I wouldnt hang around, sounds like you spend your life walking on egg shells.

every week?

I work away from home all week so it's a a bit more special than normal.

Wedding Anniversary.

Not married, which then leads tot he argument over which day is the aniversary.

I presume you mean "argument" in a tongue in cheek way!!!

What about a track day? 4x4, hot air balloon ride...how many years is it? Hey you could even propose to her?

Wow, you have to go to all this trouble to celebrate a day that is so important, neither of you can remember when it is?

We only remembered out last wedding anniversary because my mum sent us a card. On the day we had just landed at Heathrow having just come back from Whistler with our boys!

no we remember when it is, but is your aniversary on your first date, when you first met, first *special cuddle" etc etc etc.

Bunnyhop, I was thinking that when you mentioned handbags on the Pootle so could be onto a winner!

I have a terrible memory for dates, but my wife reminds me of all of them, we don't buy presents though and don't even do cards for the wedding aniversary, though my parents always send us one.

If my wife sees something she likes and I can afford it, I'll buy it for her anyway, rather than trying to find a number of pressies throughout the year, that she probably doesn't really want or need, occasional bunch of flowers for no reason goes down well too.

Been with my other half for 13 or 14 years, neither can quite remember exactly how long.
I do remember we got together on a Thursday cos it was at a club we always went to after work that day.

I´ve never done the whole Hallmark presents deal and we´ve had the same bank a/c for years. I buy bike bits and she buys clothes/shoes, neither asks the other what they cost 😉
Once in a while I´ll suprise her with a little present or a weekend away, but its because its something I planned or wanted her to have. Dates are for history books.

But since you asked, a second vote for a weekend hotel break with nice food and a walk along the beach.Good luck.

on the border of lancashire & yorkshire, a good old dry bumming in front of a yorkshireman & his sheep, usually does the trick ! the envied look on his face will keep her smiling all year 😆
