It’s been an age since I’ve posted anything, work has kept me busy.
This is just a heads up to say that the garden here at the Hoose of Moont is to feature in the Garden of the Year programmes which start tonight on More4 at 9.00. We don’t appear until next Monday evening and if we make the final, the next day
We are rank amateurs who have created everything ourselves. No designers or contractors. Mostly my 81 year old mother and her spade.
Zoe Ball is the celeb presenter, very natural and sincere in person, she looked me in the eye and said she didn’t want to leave

Guys, thanks for the comments. There’s so much more they could have filmed. We suffered a torrential downpour on the eve of their arrival. Precious little was left standing. I’d hoped they’d have shown the wood piles, but maybe that’s a different programme altogether
The director works weekly with Monty Don, so I’m hopeful he can come when it’s at it’s best

To me it felt like a generic nice garden rather than anything truly special. Of the final 3, I'd have chosen the small garden, just for the amazing way it used its space.

It would be nice if the panel had someone who championed ecological benefit, diversity and climate....
Agree about the wildlife. That winning garden was bereft of hedge hogs, foxes, badgers, wild birds, amphibians, etc. Maybe the odd bee found its way into the flower beds.
