Ok, mainly due to my own laziness, my small garden has kind of grown out of control. In addition, there is a tree (approx. 6m high) that needs to come down.
The fact is that to do this would take numerous trips to the tip (I have a Ford Focus hatch), the purchase, or hire, of tools I don't have, plus quite alot of time (which I would rather spend riding at weekends
)
Ultimately I want to get rid of all of the shrubs and small trees and replace them with something altogther more manageable.
Has anyone used a company to carry out a garden clearance? If so, how much did it cost?
I am in West Sussex, if you have any company recommendations.
Mates, beer, BBQ, bring your own garden tools.
Sorted! 😀
To be honest: With my mates, we'd most likely crack open the beer and say **** it.
Anyway, I would like to explore the professional route to see whether it is viable.
My neighbours have used a clearance company. Pretty much all they did was take a brush cutter to all the growth and then dispose of it. The disposal is the most expensive thing. You tree can't go to an amenity site if branches are greater than 25mm so may be better to get a skip and a heavy duty chipper
If i was down your way i'd come and quote you 😉
I charge according to the job, access, amount of waste etc.
Yes disposal is a problem, i have to pay £23 per ton so add it on to the bill.
We had our garden cleared, tidied up, needed, lawn mowed etc. Two men, one full days work, bit under 200 quid including taking the rubbish away.
We're in derbyshire though, expect to pay way more down south I guess.
Doing something very similar on Thursday - removing about eight assorted thorn hedges, digging a path out, removing a wall, removing some fencing etc.
Costing me £170 for a man with a mini digger and another £180 for a 8yd skip.
Then me and my neighbour (we share the garden) are proving the manual labouring.
