[Closed] Galaxy Note 10.1 and Garmin 705

Very specific issue throwing out in the hope someone can help

Ive got the Note 10.1 and the samsung otg usb adaptor, through which I connect my garmin edge 705, directly or with a power splitter (or hub also tried). Unfortunately usb memory cards work but sometimes needa restart first the garmin wont have it at all.
Why wifes substantially cheaper tab 7 seems to work fine. Im almost there as a laptop replacement but being able to upload to strava or garmin connect would be ideal.
Anybody got this working and can suggest anything helpful, unlike swapping tablets with wife or trying to prise my laptop out of the grasp of my daughter.
