I know I can google this (and have done so) but I'm looking for real-world advice and tips rather than Internet guides.

I have in what I laughingly call my front "garden" a fuchsia bush which is frankly a monster. It's well over 2m wide and probably nearer 3. I'm moving house in the near future and it has sentimental value to me so I'd quite like to take a bit of it with me.

I come from a family of farmers and gardeners but it's a gene that sadly has skipped me, I couldn't successfully grow Japanese Knotweed. What do I need to know?

Cheers.

Hormone rooting powder almost guarantees success.

Hard to get a fuschia cutting to fail when I've tried it, luckily

I’ve got a tomato plant in a grow bag out back which looks like it’s headed that way before we get to harvest any toms!

If it’s 2mtrs wide you might be able to divide it up and take a rooted part with you just keep it well watered at this time of the year once it’s planted and plant ASAP as you can after dividing.

Done this on a job I was leaving and they are happily growing in our garden 20 years later.

Use this year's non-flowering growth that has started to ripen (becoming woody or hard). Peel from the main shoot leaving a heel, trim heel to 10-20 mm. Trim shoot to 4-6" and remove leaves from bottom half by running fingers down the shoot. Dip in hormone rooting powder, insert into potting compost to 1/3 length. clear poly bag over the cuttings (but not touching them) for 3-4 weeks in warmth but indirect sunlight (don't cook them).

Or as above, look for shoots emerging from the soil away from the main shoot, dig up with plenty of fibrous root and pot on.

I accidentally grew a new fuschia by throwing the cuttings from one in a compost heap. I have a 6x10 ft fuschia where the compost heap was inside 3 years.
I think they might be impossible to kill as nothing else I touch survives
