trying to help my mate with his web site, and showing him how to make small changes, uploads, FTP etc etc. thought FPE was part of office software but it seems not any more.

google suggests its free!! is that the case or are there catches? any better free editors out there for just simple stuff? he'll just want to change the odd pic or so, nowt clever.

cheers

Notepad?

I think I'd rather eat my own spleen than use Frontpage.

he needs something wysiwyg as well as code really, thats why i asked about FPE. when i used it it seemed simple to switch between displaying the page and matching it up to the code.

cheers

It might have changed since I last looked at it, but FrontPage used to create some of the most abominable code it's ever been my misfortune to come across. It's a credit to modern browsers that any of it renders in any sort of sensible manner.

Can't recommend a WYSIWYG editor really, I've not used one in donkey's years and I'm somewhat out of date.
