I need to retrieve some photos from a formatted memory card. Anyone got any experience of good, free, trustworthy programs?
Recuva is pretty good I've found.

My memroy card won't register. Don't know what's wrong with it. Think its been damaged somehow

Is very powerful and really useful for other files as well as images.
Just had a look at Recuva which is great for a step by step approach. PhotoRec is a bit more full on.

Is it showing in disc manager:

If it is, photo rec will still work; don't try and initialise it.
Recuva after being recomended on here, so easy even i could use it. and it worked.
