I have a 02 plate focus, manual petrol, and on starting it up today the dashboard emitted 4 beeps, there were no warning lights lit up on the display though. It's never done this before, any ideas?

Many thanks

Its a feature built into the car, when the temperature is below 4c and you turn on the ignition, it will beep to warn you that the temperature is below freezing,Its just another saftey/warning device by ford.hth 🙂

Not sure why its never done this before though. 😕

I've got an 03 focus and never had the dash "beep" whatever the temp. But I did have to have a new dash after about 6 years. It's a common problem and although Ford didn't do a recall they did reduce the price of a replacement from about £300 to about £70.
Sympoms are warning lights staying on/off and eventually speedo and revclock had a mind of their own with readings totally unrelated to road speed or engine revs.

My 57 plate focus does the temperature warning thing (yellow snowflake at 2 degrees, red at 0) but the beep for it is a single low pitched tone not four beeps.
