I just got the phone call from the specialist at the hospital after my MRI scan last week, I have officially ruptured my PCL ligament, but I've now got to wait another month or two to se the ligaments and sports injury specialist to work out what form of action needs to be taken next.
It's great to finally know what is wrong, but it's just very frustrating to have to wait for another appointment to then wait again after that for the treatment, fingers crossed for treatment this side of the new year!
c'est la vie, irritating but not life threatening so cheer up!
I am not finding it easy, the waiting.
This afternoon I'm due to get the results of my latest blood test.
A blood test I had three months ago freaked the doctors out with how little haemoglobin I had. Lots of concern about where it had gone but tests, including getting a couple of cameras inserted, found nothing obviously wrong. Been on strict orders ever since to avoid all physical exertion.
Which has been driving me right round the bend! I know I shouldn't let myself get my hopes up, but I'm praying to any gods that'll listen that there'll be good news and I can start exercising again. I never realised just how much I rely on it for stress-relief.
If it is any consolation I have been running/cycling/playing rugby without an ACL ligament (completly tearing mine in a rugby accident about 10years ago).
When I was diagnosed I was told that they wouldn't do anything as you can live a normal life without it, and to be honest you can.
Last weekend I finished my second half marathon with no issues and Im cycling between 100-200 miles a week.
Physio will help immensely (but most of it is strengthening the surrounding muscles).
So, theres no need for the worries tbh.
