I met an ex porn star in a bar in Ludwigshafen, she and her husband owned it, they had pictures up of her "working" behind the bar, we ripped the pish out of her but she gave as good as she got... she stayed open for us as well.. not exactly dazzling though!

not film star but soap star : prob about 20 years ago i bumped into 'Kevin Webster' from Corrie'... he was rite oop north, Hollingworth Lake (at the fish/fisherman pub... the pub was fairly quiet back then and it used to have its own cocktail bar...i went there every friday nite for my cocktails ( umbrellas with sparklers in them ! i wanted to get kevins autograph but the barman said he was out for a quiet drink and didnt wanna be disturb (oh) 😥

None of them blew her away as I can remember, but Liam called her 'doll face' and was a bit slimy.

I think it was Ade who was a bit stroppy too - not sure about the others.

Elfinsafety- Yeah the Grapes is a nice place, havent had the fish there yet but will make a point of having some next time. Like you say the Narrow is way too poncy. It was much better before they built the conservatory extension and Ramsey got his hands on it!

It was. I mean, the food there is quite good, granted, and they do a good range of beers, but it's just sooo poncy. Only pop in there now and then, if it's earlier on, as it fills up with suits of an evening. Bootys has a nice chilled out atmosphere, and the staff there know us and treat us very well. The Grapes is a little gem; proper pokey old riverside pub, and again with nice grub. Further along, the Prospect is of course a nice old pub, and the Captain Kidd is one of my faves. The Town of Ramsgate is another pokey little place, very narrow, but appealing.

Yeay, Ramsey has kind of missed the point of what a riverside pub should be really. It's soulless and popular simply because it's owner is a sweary bloke on telly. It was better before, and did good beer then.

Don't spose you know the scruffy dive on Three Colt St, the Three Bells and Blade Bone/Urban Bar? Can get proper lively in there, girls dancing on tables, open till silly o'clock, right laugh sometimes.

About 1995 I was mountain biking along the North Down Coastal Path on my trusty Orange Clockwork and who was on the trail but Billy Connolly. Thank god he got out of my way because antique Dia Compe 986's would never have stopped me in time. Couldn't believe it. The Culloden Hotel close by is a posh one serving Belfast, and he was playing at the Opera House at the time.

No film stars I'm afraid, but when I was biking up Glen Esk I'm pretty sure I went past Will Self and a woman, although he had his hood up because it was raining.
That's a bit shit, isn't it.

Watched Ice Cold In Alex a few weeks ago while here at work, Sylia Syms very nice indeed, good fim as well.The nurse that got shot in the film was nice too. 🙂

When I worked for TWA way back once upon a time, I was working the lost baggage office and Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor strolled in as we had managed to mis-send their luggage to god-knows-where. They sat in the office for quite some time while we traced and located it. I think Richard had been in the scotch a bit, but nice and Elizabeth Taylor---well need I say more--- both very friendly and willing to carry on a normal conversation during their "visit".

When a bit tipsy I used to think it was amusing to go up to him in the local nightclub in Elgin and pretend to be a groupie "You're that bloke out of Trainspotting, Giz yer autograph" etc. Hilarious eh? Anyway, this one time... he found it even less amusing than usual, probably because it was actually Kevin McKidd, whom I was not aware comes from Elgin originally. Doh!

I also met Robin Williams when he was filming the Bill Forsyth film, 'Being Human' up Glen Nevis in the mid 90s. He was very gracious and signed my paper video cover insert for 'The Dead Poets Society' with "Carpe Diem, Robin Williams"
