Why are the 'down' ones not called de-escalators?

Far too much colour to be Schindlers Lift.. if i remember it was all black and white, with a little touch of red...

I'm a stair man myself, but inexplicably get seriously annoyed by people who walk up/down escalators. They're for lazy people. If you want to walk use the stairs, if you don't want to walk use the escalators. Don't mix the two, it's madness 🙂

Last time I was in that there London I witnessed a man going apoplectic with rage because a really old fella was using 'the wrong stairs'. The old guy didn't seem to care as the nutter yelled "wrong stairs" at him over and over whilst pointing and shaking. I laughed heartily and then blocked the cockwomble on the escalator just a bit further along. I was hoping I'd force him to explode with impotent anger. London is mad 😉
