Yeah, just a kid thing. I can see why it's popular now as it adds in some social interaction. Tell your kids to watch out for thieving gits too. No trust trading with random folk. (I think that's the problem thing).
I thought it sounded something like Lego or Duplex, so Googled and now am non the wiser 😬

Trouble is the kids got into it and so Mum helped them out. From the thieves etc. Now she is a multinational Roblox guru and kids are not even allowed to play on her thing as it’s so exclusive....bleh bleh, bleh bleh bleh.

Yeah our two girls (11) love it - they play it quite regularly whist concurrently Facetiming their cousin who lives in Australia (who is playing in the same game). They have been caught out once by trading with a stranger which then ended up clearing out her account (it only had about £6 value in it) and it has taken several weeks without success to get a refund. I really don't know what happened or how, but they didn't 'hack' the account as such (ie, they didn't take control of it) they just emptied it of the credits that were in there.
