Off to the lakes for a week tomorrow with a 5 yr old and an 8 week old, where's good around windermere for evening meals that are reasonably priced and family friendly. Would be looking to eat between 5-6.30 most likely.

Dodds and the waterside, if burgers/pizza etc fit the bill, then don't rule out the YHA Ambleside either, lovely location and lots of space out front and inside for the kids.

Oh yes, the YHA. I've stayed there several times and the food is cheap. Great thanks.

Good idea yha, we usually make up a picnic and find a hidden quiet spot lakeside, there are loads you just have to walk 5 minutes from a car park.
