I found it crushingly dull after the first couple of hours

It's ace. Buy the add-ons first though.

Then prepare to write off many, many hours.

Loved it. Takes a few hours to get into it.

Massive fan of the first two for what it's worth... FO3 is the reason I got an xbox.

Folk seem to either really love it (majority, see all the reviews etc) or really not like it. Seems a marmite thing really.

It also cures swine flu. True fact.*

*well, i got swine flu, did nothing but stay in and play fallout for 2 weeks straight and then I got better.

I've just finished uninstalling FO3 on my PC.

Brilliant game, but I packed it with so many different mods to improve and add stuff that it got to the point where it would crash every half hour or so. I couldn't be bothered to run through all the mods one by one to see which combination cuased it so I thought **** it.

Will probably reinstall it in a few weeks though.
Going to waste my time on a massively modded Dawn Of War 2 instead....

I enjoyed it a bit but ultimately the end just sort of arrived and I missed a load of the game. Reminds me I need to sell my copy of it...

Played It for hours then realised I had completed 15% of It . Then promptly gave up. Just bought Splinter cell conviction for the x box . Looks good.

Played it through once just on story mode and decided to play it again but doing every mission I could find. Then discovered the DLC so got a load of that and Im still nowhere near finished...then again I havnt played it in a few months.

Very enjoyable once you get past the boring introduction stuff. Some of the weapons are just ridiculous..the Man Opener is a fun one, especially when it removes the top of peoples skulls 😯

Bethesda, the developers, are working on Brink which looks very good indeed. Looking forward to that being released next year.

If you do buy it don't do the "final" mission until you're ready to finish the game.

Splinter Cell Conviction cocked me right off - really linear, annoying controls and every now and again it would decide you couldn't shoot out lights or your emp flashbangs wouldn't work just to advance the plot and make things more difficult.

Loved it, did all the side quests, collected all the weapons, bobbleheads etc. before finishing the main story.

Spent a lot of hours going through with good karma, then started over playing through as evil - just so I got to see the mushroom cloud over Megaton 8)

Loved it for the first couple of weeks and then it became really repetitive. Sold it.

I bought it for the ps3 from someone on here. Really addictive game, but the central quest isn't as long as you'd like.

New one comes out soon.

I enjoyed it...and so did my mate Sean. It's not the best way to waste many many many hours of your life...but if you can justify losing that much time to a game then there's worse game to get.

And did anyone else find the Alien Blaster? Suddenly the death claws were much much much less scary.

Deathclaws were much easier once you slowed them down with the Dart Gun 🙂

I got the Alien Blaster but never really used it other than out of curiosity, I loved my rifles far too much.

Spacemonkey makes a good point - even though I spent many hours playing it and as much as I liked it, it did become very repetitive after a while.

I really liked the sound of it, but I just didn't get into the game enough. All the having to walk around talking to people in the right order, when you can already predict what they are going to say got on my nerves. I think I shoud maybe give it another go though

Great game think I might reinstall it and try not to kill the sherrif in megatron. His son didn't like me much after that and you can't kill him.

If you are going to get it, but the game of the year edition from Amazon. You get the standard DLC add-ons with it and it's only 16 quid.

Then be prepared to waste your life trying to collect bobbleheads, every unique weapon and item in the game, and make every weapon.

Then you'll play it again as evil just to see what happens. Tip, if you wipe out megaton by hand (as it were) people don't like you. Tey like you even less once you've done Rivet City by hand as well.

Heh, I got bored waiting for a wedding in Rivet City, went on a killing spree instead.

Didn't do my karma much good, was never welcomed back!

The GOTY edition is SHIT! Yeees it has on the additional add-on packs, but my god, the programming is bollox, there's so many glitches and bugs, it ruined my enjoyment of a lot of it. 🙁

Seem to remember an update that screwed V.A.T.S up?

Take shorter strokes - after the third time I'd have thought that you'd have figured that out 🙄

It's on the PS3 so it patches automatically.
