Someone hot my car last year and drove off without stopping. The police found the person and I paid around £450 for the repair.

The issue has just been to court and the person has been fined, had to pay costs and was give penalty points. As I paid for the repair anyone know if I will get some of the fine money to cover the repair costs? Or does the court keep all the fine money.

The excess on my insurance made it not worthwhile to claim and the police took the receipt for the repair with them. I've emailed the police but won't get an answer until early next week I think.

Anyone been through something similar?

The fine is for the offence, not the damage to your car. It goes to HM Treasury.

A fine is normally for the government coffers. The conviction ought to make a civil money claim easy though.
