What are these big problems ahead you forsee? 21years ago my city was torn apart by terrorists. We rebuilt. London, Madrid, Paris, Istanbul, Sydney, Oklahoma, New York have all recovered. The only issue is people making the actions of a lone wolf into a much bigger thing than it is. Politicians need to cool these situations down not stoke the fires of hatred. I just drove my 10 and 13 year old daughters to school. Both very upset as they knew people who were going last night, so were hoping they were all still alive. I then drove into work through Salford and Cheetham Hill. The City feels tense. Lots of sirens and helicopters. I get in to where I'm working at the moment to be called into a meeting. We were then informed that an 18 year old colleague was killed at the arena last night.

Revolution my arse, we are already rebuilding. The city was not a ghost town today, it was not a fearful place, a little sombre perhaps.
Most of the panicking came from those on social media telling me shots had been fired in the Arndale, that explosions were going off around the suburbs'.
This is Manchester, we don't do violence, we drop pills and hug each other. There may be the odd barney but the wider community will come together.
Just what do we have to revolt about? It's a great time to be alive and it's only the power crazed and easily led that'll tell you otherwise.

I dont care for peoples opinions on who did this terrible act or why they did it,when the investigation is still ongoing and not being fueled by google searches i care for those families and freinds who have lost loved ones, who are going to have to live with disfiguring and life changing injuries, some children and adults have still not been located.
I do care for the great care offered by all the responders, the emergency services, the by standers who ran to help, those who donated free food and drink, those who supplied free lifts home, phone calls, rooms and hotel beds etc.
Lets just remember all of the above, the people who rallied round to support each other, regardless of age, colour , religion or political beliefs.

And I've been in love with all my life anyway. I love this place! And I love these people. I may be very cynical here, May has had a bad week, GE approaching polls moving away from her. How best to appear "Strong and Stable." If you want to bring people with you the best way is always to find a "them".
I have no faith in her abilities, i have no faith that she is the right person to begin dealing with this crap. After all she was the person who led the go home campaign, treat people as scum and you will get bitten. I have yet to see any evidence that she wants an inclusive country, which IMO is the first step to dealing with a lot of this crap.

22 lives extinguished. 22 families are without their children. These mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters will all wake up tomorrow only to remember their loss.

I have no direct links to anyone involved, I'm well on the other side of the Pennines and I have no real association with Manchester other than traveling round the M60 on my way to Liverpool frequently.
But this morning I cried while watching the news. When the police spokesman confirmed that children were among the dead then that just set something off in me. What sort of lowlife scum purposefully targets innocent children?? That is beyond sick and beyond comprehension.
My kids aren't old enough yet to be aware of what's going on but I've spent a lot of today wondering how I would explain something like this to them if I had to.
On the other side I spent 3 hours in the car tonight listening to the stories of the good people of Manchester who have done every little thing they can do to help in some way. No matter how small, people want to help. It's in our nature and it's what makes us great and it makes me proud to be human.
For those of you directly affected by last night I can only offer you my sympathies. Words won't change what has happened but they can help you to cope and understand. I'm not much of a one for talking about feelings, but as someone said earlier.. it's ok to not be ok.
Also, does anyone have a link to any footage of the poet who did the This Is The Place performance at the Manchester vigil? I've only heard the audio on the radio, but that was powerful stuff.

I was in London when our Irish friends were voicing their opinions via bombs. That atmosphere of resolute refusal to be cowed was remarkable. I see the same from Manchester today.
