hi anyone know how to report a possible breach of buildings regs.A place where i sometimes work have knocked through a wall to create two adjoining rooms but they are on different levels by about 3ft and there is limited ceiling space, so the gap to walk/cimb through [as there are 3 steps ]is about 5ft.Hard to describe but in an office with more than 5 people working in it, it can't be legal.any advice appreciated rob.

Would try and contact the local building control officer at the council.

There might well be other implications around H&S as well.

I think that the only height restrictions in Building Regs refer to stairs which must have a 2m head room over the pitc h line.

Ah, just seen the bit about steps.

yes i was thinking about h+s in the event of fire/smoke if you were running to the exit you would knock yourself out. [i know you should calmly walk].

I would be concerned that the opening is properly constructed and supported.
