Measured mine for the first time ever and was quite shocked to find it came out quite well in the charts I looked at. I'm very suprised as I'm heavier than Ive ever been and have carried out infrequent exercise at best over the last two years.
So I wondered what most STW forum members heart rate recovery is ie difference between exercise HR and HR after 1 mins rest divided by 10. Mine came out at 4.1, but I'm sure that there nust be people with very high figures on here.
I just looked at the HR trace from a run earlier in the week and it went from 182 to 144 over a min during a mid run catch up, which works out at 3.8
But then I looked at the stats of the end of a 5K the week before and that was 190 to 141 = 4.9
No idea what these mean though so will have to google now 🙂
I read that it's can be used partly to determine if you are at risk of a heart attack - if your HR doesn't drop by more than 20 beats then there could be a problem. Because of my recent lack of exercise that's why I checked it. If you score more than 4 apparently your fitness is excellent. More than 6 is the top category of outstanding.
mines variable, seems to drop from moderate excercise (mountainbiking) to resting really quickly, but if I sprint for a sign then my vision goes dark and takes ages to get back to normal.
