If I have a figure of say 12.34567890123 & copy it in to another cell how do I make it just say 12.35 but when I look at the cell I can still see the full detail?

Does that make sence??

Right Click the target cell, select format and change to show 2 DPs

Select the cell.
Format Menu - Cells - Number - Set the No of decimal places to 2.

The cell will show 12.35 on the worksheet, but when you select the cell, it will show 12.34567890123 in the formula bar.

I need the cell to only have 12.35 not the whole 12.345676, even when I click on the cell. I could just go into the cell & change it but I have 000's of them

Add another column. Use the function Round and specify 2 digits. For example if your original value is in cell M888, in cell N888 enter =ROUND(M888,2). Drag that formula down the column. If you want to get rid of the original data then copy the column, paste special "values" to overwrite the original data, thyen delete the column you added.
