Watched this tonight and I was very pleasantly surprised. It's filmed very well and so god damn tense. The music is ace in it. Quality sci fi viewing.

Its a thriller rather than pure SciFi. The essence of a Hitchcock thriller is the audience knows what's going to happen just before the protagonist. This film does that well.

I saw it in the cinema and liked it. Cracking first effort from Alex Garland.

Would make a good stage play.
Not sure about first effort comment - was this Mr Garland's first published story?

Predictable, weakly scripted, modest acting, gratuitously shot. Mediocre at best.
[edit] but it was better than 'Sunshine'

Ah; thanks.

Slightly distracted whilst watching it with the thought that one of the actors was Martin Freeman's younger brother, with a hint of Paul Bettany.

That'll be Brendan Gleeson's son then.

Agreed on everything except the music IMHO thought GB was trying his best to be Mogwai & not doing a v good job.
