Rumour has it that we might get blue passports.
I have "Feed… the… troll…" to the tune of the Band Aid single playing in my head for some reason…
It really is quite staggering how one man can be so sanctimonious
Crank. Yesterday’s data showed that we are. Manufacturing doing well.. The Uk is getting on with it fortunately
Really yesterday's data showed we are building factories and wearhouses ? Can you link me to that ?
The good news from the PMI survey is that the recent pick-up in manufacturing output has been concentrated in investment and intermediate goods, which suggests that companies are seeking to expand capacity
From the remoan rag - they must have hated writing that
Can you link me to that ?
You'll need to form an orderly queue to get your question answered by the Brexit Oracle.
deadlydarcy - MemberThere was plenty of positives put forward so that’s just more of your bullshit.
The problem is, the remain campaign could only give real positives, since they were selling a real outcome. The leavers could give any positives they liked, because they were selling an imaginary one. Or rather multiple imaginary ones.
It's hard to sell a real bike for the real price when the competitor is selling imaginary hoverbikes that apparently make you money, while telling everyone your bike costs £350 million and there are 80 million turkish people in the box.
Err link to show actual building of factories and wearhouses like what you just said was happening .
You know something to put the lue to stuff like this :"UK construction industry optimism slumps to five-year low, survey reveals
Brexit concerns, high import costs and fears of economic slowdown lead to fall in volume of commercial projects"
Ah that'll be the stuff going on behind the scenes. You know the grown ups things.
You need to look forward not back.
Don't ask questions respect democracy and the will of the people!

😀

Thanks for your inevitable donation of whataboutery, it adds a lot of value
is it a squirrel?
Rare for Owen Jones to be on the button, but not a bad effort today in the guardian. Obviously a STW reader given this para
Instead, it seems that too many stop Brexiters are making the same mistakes some leftists have traditionally made: looking for traitors, not converts; defined by what they are against, not what they are for; purist; cult-like; treating the wider public as politically backward; angrily dogmatic; yelling at people on[s] Twitter.[/s] STW
FTFH
First off, I’m not convinced by the campaign’s aim, and here’s why. Some stop Brexiters recite, almost as a mantra, that the referendum was only advisory (despite the government sending a pamphlet to every household in Britain promising them that the government “will implement what you decide”). If the referendum result was simply cancelled, it would be regarded as a coup against democracy not just by leave voters, but by many remainers. Faith in democracy may never be rebuilt – “more people voted for Brexit than for anything else in British history and the establishment thwarted it”, the refrain would go. It would surely be the greatest shot in the arm for the radical right in British history
Ok the last bit is going a bit off piste, but a good start
"looking for traitors"
"defined by what they are against"
Sums up the pro Brexit people I encounter on twitter, for sure.
In meatspace pro Brexit people seem less keen on calling people traitors, they're reasonable people, but by definition are defined by what they are against (the EU) not what they are in favour of… I don't know two who share the same view of what should replace EU membership, and I do know a fair few.
You missed the word “stop” as in stop Brexshiters
THM, that extra bit you added with your edit is a reminder why another referendum is probably required, very hard for any government to endorse EU membership now without a second vote on that issue, even if "the people" are in favour of it (at some point later than 2016).
Keep repeating the flawed mantra. It won’t change anything
"Feed… the… troll…"
Can someone send me a message when THM gives up on his stuff please? Thread a bit pointless while he is.
Keep repeating
😆
Even that’s a repeat 😉
Well you've got to admire his tenacity if nothing else, lol!
Err so no actual link to factories and wearhouses being built then ?
Nah, they make stuff outdoors. No need for factories or some other building you mention.
Lower costs for our race-to-the-bottom UK. 😉
behind the scenes grown up stuff
Have a look at Politico.eu , of course there have been meetings going on behind the scenes. Davies and Barnier are just figureheads and the EU in particular has been very keen to keep individual countries in-line hence the public position that it’s calling the shots which in reality of course it is not. Even stories in the UK press that May’s office is really running the negotiations.
As for Democracy and “giving up”I posted a few relevant numbers which show how Parliament has voted on triggering A50, no to THE single market and customs union
Davies is a "figurehead" and it's really the unelected behind the scenes staff in control? I suppose to some extent they must be (well those that haven't been forced to move on for talking truth to power) at least until the government decides what they want to replace EU membership with. Davies' recent comments (about the EU 'cherry picking' if it reduces our access re services) suggest that the "cake and eat it" holding pattern bluff has been upgraded to a "keep the whole cake and eat it all" approach… which I suppose is progress of sorts. Or a method of preventing speedy progress, I'm genuinely not sure. I'd suggest that it might be the latter… that he wants us out of the EU, and in "transition", before the shape of our future relationship with Europe is set out to "the people".
No response to stupidity of Barniers comments re fin services
Do you think DD is capable of what has been negotiated and delivered to data?? It’s the team doing the work
Do you think DD is capable of what has been negotiated and delivered to data?? It’s the team doing the work
Yep all the fun of working hard while your boss screws you in public and undermines your efforts. Really helpful isn't it.
‘‘Twas ever thus. Hence my scepticism re politicians
Do you think DD is capable of what has been negotiated and delivered to data??
Of course not, but still it seems he has influence over the process.
In the minds of the press - perhaps major
In reality - relatively minor
Fortunately!
(Anyone mention grown ups behind the scenes 😉 )
So these grown ups working behind the scenes?
I don't suppose they are un-elected bureaucrats determining our future by any chance?
If only. They are actually tearing their hair out trying to minimise the harm caused by this ideologically-driven self-immolation.
Sorry, thought something had happened to the thread!
Ignore.
Stupid project fear,

Spurious links - at least the industry expert was more honest in his interpretation
On the flip side, sensible news and comments from the Ireland and Hungary leading to the inevitable reaction from Macron
indeed
The other major factor, according to the SMMT, is Brexit. Tamzen Isacsson insists it is "the greatest challenge the industry is facing at the moment".Consumer confidence, she says, is key to the health of the new car market.
"If consumer confidence is low, people delay purchases of big-ticket items like cars.
"With so much confusion about the impact of Brexit and where the economy is heading, it's not surprising they're holding back.
The clue in: “the other major factor”.....
On the flip side, sensible news and comments from the Ireland and Hungary
"Mr Varadkar expressed his appreciation for the support from Hungary in relation to Ireland's specific concerns on Brexit, particularly on issues around Northern Ireland." Indeed, hums A nation once again to oneself
an even bigger clue in
"the greatest challenge the industry is facing at the moment".
