Can an employer keep giving you a temporary contract ( in this case 2 years) or at some point must they make your role permenant?Any advice gratefully received Thanks

I think it's after 4 years and even then if they can make a good business case they don't have to.

Yes they can, but you may gain permanent employment rights any way.
