I've noticed over the past few days when manouvreing out of the multi-storey car park at work an eggy type smell from the car.. Usually goes away after a couple of miles.
Does anyone know what may be causing this?
Its a 5 year old NA petrol engine with 65K on the clock if that helps..

Wet/old aircon pollen filter ?
If you mean "bad" eggy smell then car batteries can emit hydrogen sulfide, the gas associated with rotten eggs. I have no idea if it's that or have any simular experiences.
Air-con on and windows closed?
Have you recently filled up at a Shell garage?

Also airflow meter problems (fuel mixture). Getting somebody to, if you'll pardon the expression, sniff around your tail-pipe when you start the engine, see if the odour emanates there...
Could it be the yoke?

It's just the cat, don't worry about it, but equally don't breathe it in, in confined spaces!
Perhaps the 'ed gasket has blown?

That's a point, look for a quack under the bonnet.
Could be as simple as the cabin filter requires changing (was on my E46). Has it ever been changed?

I've just burst out laughing in the middle of the office at some of those responses! 😀
Generally have windows up and no aircon or re-circulate on. Will have a sniff around the tailpipe to try and find the source of the smell as a first port of call..
Then I'll look into the battery side of things.

Happened to my car and it was the windscreen washer fluid. Gone bad in the heat. I flushed it out of the rear window washer so the smell didn't go in the cabin.
Come on - has nobody cracked this problem yet!

Unless you drive a track car and the battery is under the seat I doubt it's that, they're kept in well vented places for a reason (and if it is H2S don't go sniffing for it, it's nasty ass stuff).
Had a wee sniff of the rear pipes after work and didn't seem to be coming from there.. Seems to be more in the cabin. May just drive it to my local indie garage and let them have a look/smell.
Sulphur dioxide. The catalyst has gone. Or it might need a good thrash down the motorway, I dunno if petrol cars also do the self-cleaning thing.

I had the same in my car a few years ago.
I was told it could be due to a mixture of windscreen washer fluids.

I have had an eggy Butcombe breeze on occasions.
Could be the air con.
Bacteria growing.
Change/check pollen filter every year.
Normally smells like used socks.
Defo doesn't need a good thrash doon the motorway... It gets it's legs stretched to within an inch of its life far too often! Will try flushing washer fluid through tomorrow . It's probs been sat in there for a while.
I hope the cat isn't gone as I've heard they're pricey!

Found the problem. Caused another..
It was the washer fluid gone bad.. Tried to empty the system by pulling the stalk often but not continuously to empty the system and the pump/motor has stopped working. Bollocks.
Anyone know if these things can overheat and cutout? I've left it ten minutes and it still ain't working.. FFS
Is it making any noise? The tube popped off mine once so it may be that pulsing it has made it work loose.
No noise at all which is making me worry..
