OK maybe I'm old fashioned but I'm sitting in Starbucks & there is a middle aged/class bloke sitting with his laptop with his shoes off & resting his feet on the table!! Glad I'm not the next person to eat a muffin off that one. Seriously have standards of personal behaviour slipped so far? Yuk

Last time I was in a Starbucks there was a "lady" changing the nappy of an infant it the seated drinking area not toilet/baby changing.
Off putting when you is having your iced cinamon mocha choca latte.

I think you just have to accept that some people have different standards.

Same as people who put their feet on seats on trains...I could say something, but then I tell myself that i really shouldn't care.

In an ideal world he shouldn't have to, the staff should ask the person concerned to adhere to decent standards or vacate the premises.

Unfortunate, if all venues starting enforcing civilised standards, they'd have very few customers...and business comes first.

I'd like to think if i worked in a coffee shop I'd ask him to put his feet down.

In trains, the conductors usually walk past without a word when people have the feet on the seats...possibly to avoid the inevitable confrontation.

The rot set in when Bernies Steak Houses (who remembers them?) starting allowing people in wearing jeans (and no, not black tailored jobbies, jeans like you'd wear to paint the house). And it's been downhill ever since.

One paints the house? I think the real rot set in when people ceased having staff and started 'doing it' themselves.

The last Starbucks I entered in central Manchester was filthy, absolutely filthy.

While I don't condone this, it's perhaps because Starbucks* don't have baby changing areas? So the mother probably thought it best to use the carpeted floor in the cafe rather than the pee-ed upon hard floor next to the toilet bowl to change the baby.

(*I'm guessing based on the local Stabucks and Costas...)
