Hi,
I’ve not used eBay for a while and it’s changed a bit since, no option for PayPal etc.
I’m trying to sell a car spare wheel and have an offer from a zero feedbacker, we all have to start somewhere.
I have two payment options, if the buyer chooses to pay through eBay can he collect the wheel and then claw back the money through eBay? I’d prefer cash on collection.
Cheers
When they collect, scan the QR code that eBay provide them, then it proves they've collected it. So they can't say they haven't got the item.
If they pay through ebay it works the same as Paypal used to but you have to wait longer before the money appears. You can still use PP btw, certainly as a buyer.
Thanks, I’ll have a look into the QR code option.
Qr code or can input a 6 digit number from the same page. Buyer has it on their eBay app. This removes the old issues with collection and claiming they hadn’t etc. works well.

It is not an option, they will get the code. If they dad picks up the item and doesn't have the phone or code with them even after you have reminded them then they will have to go home and get it before they have the item. Can you tell this has happened more than once!
I'd be wary of a buyer collecting with the qr code if they had 0 feedback - don't hand over goods/money unless they have the code on them!!
Cash on collection is safest for the seller. Ideally somewhere that's not your house or workplace.
However, I've had a few cases of people agreeing to pay by cash, then they pay through ebay and ask if its OK to send a courier. I just cancel the order when that happens.
