I sold a fr. lx cl hub, new for £10 all in on idiot-bay recently, guess what the buyer has come back with?

The hub is supposed to be new but has signs of oil and dirt around the QR area?

Regards.

What a frikkin tool? CANNOT wait to give feedback.

Feedback? You can either give him/her positive or no feedback at all. Not exactly payback...

Did you advertise it as new?

He can get +ve feedback, with a right slagging in the text.

Yes it was sold as "new", I've advised him he can wipe any oil or dirt off.

But surely his point would be 'new' equals no dirt in the first place....

sorry , but why would a new hub have dirt on it?

I'd expect something advertised as 'new' to look, well, new.

You haven't answered the question. Why was there dirt around the QR? We demand to know!

OOh I have a response! Apparently it's the QR which is dirty, rings a bell, I think I did use it once or twice.

Should be fun...

Charlie it's more fun to ignore you.

I'd forgotten I'd used the QR. May go up to 15p.

I don't hate you, I don't know you, I have no opinion of you, I have no experience of you as a person or your posts on STW.

Me thinks you doth protest too much.

My guess is you sold the skewer as new but it is in fact used and you've been rumbled.

MTFU and either offer him a bit of cash back or at least admit it and face the music, but don't start calling him the numpty. You numpty.

No, he only said the Hub was new. QR was not mentioned but probably thrown in as part of the lot, so the buyer got a bonus. Seem entirely reasonable on Al's part. (see? No hate). Al did not advertise the QR as new, he is not a liar.

Oh, OK. I thought that was his feedback to you that you quoted.
Everyone else seems to understand how ebay works far better than I do.

So, we can assume that the hub was used as well, but advertised as new.

I thought (and I may be wrong) that if you amend the auction they amendments just go in at the bottom and you can't actually alter the original text? I may be wrong, but thats how I've always had to do it

God, it's like pulling teeth.

You sold a new hub with a used skewer, and the buyer is complaining that the hub looks like it's been used when in fact it's cross-contamination from the skewer.

Is that about right?

I amended it before any bids so the changes go straight in IIRC. I amneded it again once I'd sold the hub as it was for 2 lots of 1 hub adn the other one was used.

WW the page is not view-able as seen by this buyer.

So based on the responses we've seen on this thread...We are supposed to conclude the buyer is a numpty?
