It regularly wins awards at the soap of the year thing. I've always been incredibly dubious about the viewing figures they quote because the acting is generally so appalling. My belief is the bbc have long driven an underworld campaign to ensure people in the industry promote it. I know lots of people who watch soaps (sadly), mainly because I'm married and not one of them watch Eastenders but they all watch Coro and Emmerdale. Now it could be because they're all Northerners but more likely it's because it's a load of crap.

Here you go then. My 2015 prediction is that it will come out that the BBC trick the viewing figures for Eastenders and apply significant pressure to ensure it is represented and awarded at the soap awards.

A little while back I saw several trailers for Emmerdale, Corrie, and Eastenders. I honestly couldn't tell them apart.
I'd rather have a migraine than watch any of them; at least I've got a good excuse for painkillers and lying down in a quiet dark room.
